March is Endometriosis Awareness Month

March is Endometriosis Awareness MonthHappy March! The move toward springtime and warmer weather reminds us of new life — a dubious reminder if you are suffering from endometriosis and trying to conceive.

Endometriosis is a widespread illness affecting millions of women in the United States. Some of the main signs are painful, heavy periods, pain during or after intercourse, and pain while going to the bathroom. If you suspect you have endometriosis, tell your OB/GYN to begin testing through pelvic exam, ultrasound and laparoscopy. Proper diagnosis may help when you are ready to start a family, and you may need the assistance of infertility treatment to achieve your dream.

In honor of our patients and women throughout New Jersey dealing with this illness, Dr. Sachdev gave NJ.com an interview in this recent article, “Beyond the Pain: How Endometriosis Affects Fertility.” Click here to read!
